Hi there!

Our purpose of going through this delicate process is our great desire to become parents. A wish we’ve had way before we married. We both understand is hard process, and there are absolutely no guarantees – only hope…hope of getting a “positive” pregnancy test result on the first cycle, before we begin the *In vitro fertilization (IVF), both Peter and I need to have surgery, for example, I need to undergo *hysteroscopy and Peter must do the micro surgery to obtain tissue, and search for the sperm. It’s serious and tiresome, but we want to do it. There’s nothing more precious than hearing a child call you, “Mommy” or “Daddy”.
God willing, everything will be fine and soon we will celebrate the arrival of a new life. When I was a child, aside from becoming a professional, my biggest wish was to be married and have a family of my own. So far, two of my wishes have been granted (which I am extremely grateful). Also, we have an incredible network of support from both of our families (Mom, Dad, Jen, Stephy, Peter, Sr., Fifa and Juan Carlos).
Another thing that keeps me motivated is the thought that we are not alone, there are other couples out there going through it as well – struggling to have their wish granted. And I thought it would be a nice way to educate, share and connect. To educate those who are not familiar with the process, or those who are familiar with it, but are somewhat frighten or remain skeptical about it. To share our own experience, our journey of becoming parents and finally connect with others, and as stated earlier, let you know, if you’re going through this, that you guys are NOT alone. *In vitro fertilization – is a process by which egg cells are fertilized by sperm outside the body, in vitro. IVF is a major treatment in infertility when other methods of assisted reproductive technology have failed.

*hysteroscopy – inspection of the uterine cavity, It allows for the diagnosis of intrauterine pathology and serves as a method for surgical intervention


A little about us:

My name is Genevieve and I’m a Social Worker, I graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ponce, Puerto Rico in 2003. After graduation, I immediately started working in the field, in 2004 I married Peter in a lovely ceremony with family and close friends and as of 2009, I took a sabbatical from work to pursue a master’s degree in Mental Health from Carlos Albizu University in Doral, Florida.

Peter, is a licensed massage therapist, he is currently an instructor and interim Director of the Massage Therapy Department at Dade Medical College, Hialeah campus. We are both originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico and met in high school.
